Adelaida Gill

Adelaida Gill age 89, of Holgate, died Wednesday, afternoon at Vancrest Healthcare Center of Holgate.

Her Legacy… She was born December 7, 1923 in Mexico to Tomas and Adelaida (Barrena) delos Santos.  On May 1, 1939 she married Felix Gill in Raymondville, TX.  Adelaida was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Holgate and the Rosary Altar Society.  She was a life member of the American Legion Auxiliary.

Her Family… She is survived by her 10 children: Leona (Andy) Garcia, Napoleon, Raymond Gill, Defiance, Richard Gill, Holgate, Lenore Perez, Holgate, Ruben (Tina) Gill, Paulding, Rene (Karen) Gill, Holgate, Roberto (Beverly) Gill, New Bavaria, Lucinda (Jesse) Rodriguez, Napoleon, Rudy Gill, Toledo and Lydia (David) Smythe, St. Petersburg, FL; 23 grandchildren; 39 great grandchildren; 5 great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband on January 16, 2006 and 2 sons, Ramiro and Reynaldo, 1 grandchild, 2 great grandchildren, and 4 siblings.

Her Farewell Services… Friends will be received in the Zachrich Funeral Home, 114 William Street, Holgate on Sunday from 1-7:30 pm.  The Rosary will be recited at 7:00 pm.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be on Monday, March 25, 2013 at 10:00 am in St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Holgate.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.  Contributions can be made in Adelaida’s memory to Vancrest Healthcare Center, St. Mary’s Catholic Church, or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
