Alverda Marie (Cohrs) Mansfield

Alverda Marie Mansfield age 90, of Holgate, died Monday, September 25, 2017 at CHP Defiance In-Patient Hospice Center.
Her Legacy… She was born May 1, 1927 in Holgate to Ernest and Elnora (Koppenhofer) Cohrs. She graduated from Holgate High School in 1945. She married Perry Mansfield, Jr. at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Flatrock Township on August 27, 1947. He died May 25, 2012. Al was a member of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, Holgate and had worked in quality control for 34 years at Campbell’s Soup Company. She enjoyed all animals especially her horses, dogs, and cats.
Her Family… She is survived by her daughters Jacki (Stan) Mansfield Koziel, Orion Township, MI, Vicki (Randy) Schwab, Napoleon, and Nancy Bannister, Defiance; 10 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren. Alverda was preceded in death by their son Max Mansfield.
Her Farewell Services… Friends will be received Wednesday, September 27, 2017 from 10 -11:00 am with the celebration of her life at 11:00 am in St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, Holgate with Reverend Greg Olsen officiating . Burial will follow in Grelton Cemetery. Contributions made in Alverda’s memory can be made to Hospice of Defiance County, Henry County Humane Society or St. Peter’s Lutheran Church.
