Arthur Hopkins age 91, of Malinta, died Saturday night, June 18, 2016 at Mercy Hospital of Defiance.
His Legacy… Art was born May 17, 1925 to Anse and Roxie Hopkins, in Pike County Kentucky. He enlisted with the United States Army during World War II. On February 14, 1950 he married Rosa Hopkins in Pikeville, KY. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Napoleon. Arthur retired from the Campbell Soup Company.
His Family… Arthur is survived by his loving wife Rosa; children, Arthur (Donna) Hopkins, Holgate, Carmel (Marlene) Hopkins, Napoleon, Anthony (Lisa) Hopkins, Malinta, Michael (Cathy) Hopkins, Napoleon, Sandra (Larry) Ward, Napoleon, Lois (Steve) Yocom, Napoleon, and Anita (Dennis) Wilhelm, Malinta; 21 grandchildren; and 36 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by son, James; grandson, Johnny McQueen; granddaughter, Jennifer Hopkins; great grandsons, Jared and Bryce Hopkins; and siblings, Omer, Homer, Ambrus, and Gerlean Hopkins.
His Farewell Services… Friends and family will be welcomed into the Zachrich Funeral Home, 114 William Street, Holgate on Tuesday, June 21 from 2-8pm and again 1 hour prior to the funeral service at church. The celebration of Arthur’s life will be on Wednesday at 11:00 am in the First Baptist Church, Napoleon with Pastor Rick Trumbull officiating. Burial will follow in Hoy Cemetery with military honors. Contributions made in Arthur’s memory can be made to the family or a charity of donor’s choice.
