Arthur L. Meyer

Arthur L. Meyer age 87, of Defiance, died Sunday morning, January 1, 2023 at Vancrest of Holgate.

Arthur was born April 11, 1935 to Louis H. and Alice (Zachrich) Meyer.  He graduated from Florida High School in 1953.  Arthur enlisted with the U.S. Army.  During leave, on December 21, 1957, he married Betty Jean Allen.  He was a farmer and feed mill operator.  Arthur was a member of St. Peter Lutheran Church, Florida, Ohio and a member of the AMVETS.

He is survived by his children: Dean Meyer, Kernersville, NC, Julie (Nick) Mangas, Defiance, Brenda (Curt) German, Fort Wayne, IN and Marsha (Michael) Bischoff, Holgate; 6 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren and a sister Mildred Meyer, Defiance.  Arthur was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Betty on December 8, 2016 and a great granddaughter.

Friends will be invited to the St. Peter Lutheran Church, Florida, Oh on Thursday, January 5, 2023 at 10:oo am until the celebration of Arthur’s life at 11:00 am with Reverend Jacob Stunkle officiating.  Burial will be in Riverview Memory Gardens at a later date.  Memorial contributions can be made to St. Peter LWML.    The Zachrich Family Funeral Home and Cremation Services of Holgate is handling Arthurs services.
