Barbara Jane Binger was born November 12, 1931 to Lawrence and Lavina (Moser) MacDonald. She peacefully passed away, December 15, 2020 at The Meadows of Leipsic. She was preceded in death by her first husband Donald Boegli, her second husband Frederick Binger, and her beloved dog Spike. She was the step-mother to Sue (David) Berger, Charles Binger, and mother to Kathleen (Chuck) Selhorst, and Julie Knott. Barbara made a blended family into one.
Barbara graduated from Leipsic High School in 1949. She attended The Fort Wayne business school after graduation. She married in 1953 and then again in 1971, when she gained an instant family and made a new home in Leipsic. She was a member of the First Lutheran Church and had served on the council.
Barbara was a homemaker. She preferred the title domestic engineer. Everyone who knew her will agree that she was “sassy”. She liked to tell it like it was. She enjoyed sewing, fishing and going to Crooked Lake every summer. Her greatest joys were her grandchildren: Amy, Melissa, Katie, David, Spencer, Logan, Tyler, Megan, and Taylor, and her great-grandchildren: Leyton and Hudson. She loved being a grandma and spending time with her family. She will be missed beyond measure.
Friends will be received in First Lutheran Church, Leipsic on Friday, December 18, 2020 from 10-11:00 am. The memorial celebration of Barb’s life will begin at 11:00 am with Pastor Timothy Hauenstein officiating. Due to health concerns; a mask is required, social distancing is encouraged and the number of visitors will be regulated at any given time for admittance.
