Clarence "Joe" Retcher

Clarence "Joe" Retcher, age 84, of Holgate, died Friday, January 6, 2012 at the Henry County Hospital.
His Legacy… He was born in Holgate on July 30, 1927 to John and Rosa (Wulff) Retcher. He graduated from Florida High School. He and Nellie Sauer married January 31, 1948. Clarence was a member of Emanuel's Christian Church, New Bavaria. He was a life long farmer and worked for Okolona Grain for 12 years.
His Family… He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years; 7 children, Jill (Jack) Walters, Napoleon; Jack (Jane) Retcher, Napoleon; Christine (Michael) Haines, Swartz Creek, MI; Cathy (Dennis) Price, Napoleon; Jayne (Len) Kolbe, Napoleon; Barry (Barbara) Retcher, Liberty Center; and Joel (Julie) Retcher, Defiance; 17 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; and sister Viola Speiser, Defiance. He was preceded in death by brothers Elmer and Charles.
His Farewell Services… Friends will be received in the Zachrich Funeral Home of Holgate on Monday, January 9 from 2-5 and 6-8 pm and 1 hour prior to services at the church. The funeral service will be Tuesday, January 10, 2012 at 11:00 am in Emanuel's Christian Church, New Bavaria with Reverend Ed Briggeman officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. A luncheon will be served at the church. Memorial contributions can be made to Emanuel's Christian Church or Henry County Hospice.
