Cleo Brubaker age 91, of Hamler, died Wednesday, December 29, 2021 at the Defiance Area In-patient Hospice Center.
Her Legacy… She was born March 20, 1930 to Allen Wade and Blanche Mae (Gilmer) VanAtta in Findlay. She graduated from Findlay Senior High School in 1948.On February 16, 1957 she married Harold Brubaker in St. Michaels Catholic Church, Findlay. He died on March 28, 2017. She was the co-owner of Brubaker Turkey Farms, Inc. for 30 years. She spent 10 years with Ohio Bell Telephone Company, Findlay. She was a member of St. Paul’s Catholic Church, Hamler and the Rosary Altar Society.
Her Family… She is survived by her children: Jayma Anne (David) Gobrogge, Ridgeville Corners and Gregory Scott (Patricia) Brubaker, Sylvania; 5 grandchildren: Wade Gobrogge, Breeanne (Kevin) York, Amanda (Seth) Metzger, Cassandra (Kevin) Brown and Nicholas Brubaker; 10 great grandchildren: Samantha, Abigail, Lauren, Elizabeth Metzger, Alexandra, Kaelynn, Carina, Kasen and 1 step Makayla Brown and Kate York. In addition to her husband Harold, she was preceded in death by her infant children: Harold, Joseph, Mary and Elizabeth; a grandson, Brett David Gobrogge and siblings: Florence Howard, Faye Pugh, Mildred Flick, Marilyn VanAtta, Garland, Poe, Mervin, Ed and Donald.
Her Farewell Services… Friends will be received in the Zachrich Family Funeral Home, 114 William Street, Holgate on Sunday from 3-7:00 pm and again before the church service. Mass of Christian burial will be in St. Paul’s Catholic Church, Hamler on Monday, January 3, 2022 at 10:30 am with Father Nick Cunningham officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Contributions can be made to St. Judes Children Research Hospital or St. Paul’s Catholic Church in Cleo’s memory.
