Cyrilla R. English age 95, of Defiance and formerly of New Bavaria, died Monday, September 15, 2014 at the CHP Defiance Inpatient Hospice Center at 1:30 pm.
Her Legacy… She was born October 20, 1918 to Nicholas and Theresa (Hesselschwardt) Warniment in New Bavaria. On April 15, 1939 she married Sam English. He died on March 8, 2001. Cyrilla was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Holgate and the Rosary Altar Society. She enjoyed fishing at Rose Lake and spending time with her family.
Her Family… She is survived by her son Patrick English, Coldwater, MI and her daughter Jane (John) Seele, Defiance; granddaughter Jennifer and 2 great grandchildren James and Jaycee. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her sisters; Martha Kemp, Cecelia Gerschutz, Helen Klear, Veronica (Fronie) Warniment, Ardella Niece and Agnes Klear and brothers; John, Peter, Cornelius, Alton, Leo, Paul Warniment.
Her Farewell Services… Friends will be received in the Zachrich Funeral Home (114 William St, Holgate) on Friday, September 20, 2014 from 2-4 and 6-8 pm. The Rosary will be at 7:30 that evening. Friends will be received at 10:00 am before the Mass of Christian Burial in Sacred Heart Catholic Church, New Bavaria on Saturday at 11:00 am. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Contributions made in Cyrilla’s memory can be made to CHP Defiance Hospice, Alzheimer’s Association or a charity of your choice.
