Doris Jean Brubaker age 85, of Hamler, died Saturday evening, January 28, 2017 at Vancrest of Holgate.
Her Legacy… She was born February 3, 1931 the daughter of Frederick and Henrietta (Badenhop) Drewes in Hamler. Doris graduated from Hamler High School in 1949. She was a member of Peace Lutheran Church, Deshler and attended Abiding World Lutheran Church, Bowling Green. She was a bookkeeper for Hamler Ag Supply, teller for the Hamler State Bank and co-owner of Brubaker Bros Kordt House Bar, Hamler. Doris was reunited with her husband of 47 years, Richard Brubaker who preceded her in death April 8, 2002. Also sisters Nova Huber and Mary Delventhal, and brother Waldo “Pete” Drewes.
Her Family… She is survived by a daughter Diane (Tony) Hunt, Fort Wayne and a son Doug (Jules) Brubaker, Grand Rapids, MI and her greatest joy, her grandchildren, Megan Hunt, Brittany Brubaker McNeil, Joie Hunt, Luke Brubaker, Patrick Hunt, Jack Brubaker, Stuart Thompson and RC Thompson. Her sister Lila Cordes also survives.
Her Farewell Services… Friends will be received in the Zachrich Funeral Home, 114 William Street, Holgate on Saturday, February 4, 2017 from 11:00 am until the service at 1:00 pm. Contributions in Doris’ memory can be made to Vancrest of Holgate or the Hamler Public Library.
