Dorothy Caroline Swary

Dorothy Caroline Swary 92, of New Bavaria, died Saturday morning, March 17, 2012 at the Henry County Hospital.
Her Legacy… She was born April 16, 1919 to Frank and Amelia (Stechschulte) Jostpille in Pandora. On January 24, 1945 she married Robert Swary in St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Fort Jennings. Dorothy was a homemaker and enjoyed gardening, quilting, baking and canning. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, New Bavaria and the Altar Rosary Society.
Her Family… She is survived by her loving family; daughters, Barbara (Gary) Rettig, Maumee, Rose Ann (Larry) Barth, Defiance, Christine (Don) Mershman, Topeka, IN, Denise Swary, New Bavaria, Amy (Joe) Thome, Payne; sons;, Mark (Connie) Swary, Cleveland, Gregory (Kathi) Swary, Columbus, Steven (Diane) Swary, Pickerington, Anthony (Julia) Swary, Cincinnati, Dennis (Diane) Swary, Toledo, Kevin (Wendie) Swary, Pandora, and Keith Swary, Holgate; 24 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren and sisters Theresa Ellerbrock, Viola Krietemeyer, Agnes Horstman and Rita Kaufman. She was preceded in death by her loving husband in June of 1991, a granddaughter, Caroline Thome, a brother, Clarence Jostpille, and sisters Peg Schroeder and Mary Jane Moening.
Her Farewell Services… Friends will be received in the Zachrich Funeral Home on Tuesday from 2-8 pm with the Rosary recited that evening at 7:30 pm. A mass of Christian Burial will be on Wednesday at 10:30 am in the Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Father Stephen Stanbery officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Contributions can be made in Dorothy's memory to Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Hope Services or the Henry County Transportation Network.
