Emma (Hardin) Carroll

Emma Carroll age 83 of Defiance, died Tuesday, March 29, 2016 at her residence.

Her Legacy… She was born March 31, 1932 to Crawford and Vernie (Dotson) Hardin in Kentucky.  She had married Emory Hagerman and he is deceased.  She then married Delbert Carroll on July 30, 1988.  He passed away July 6, 2006.  She had worked for 25 years as a housekeeper for Defiance Hospital.  Family was what Emma lived for and she dearly loved her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Her Family… She is survived by her children, Emmett (Kathy) Hagerman of Hamler, Sue Frost of Ft. Wayne, IN, Lynn Miles of Defiance, Rocky Hagerman of Richlands, VA, David (Janice) Hagerman of Defiance, Jeff (Tammy) Hagerman of New Bavaria, Elizabeth Keller of Defiance, William Hagerman of Defiance, Ruth (Denny) Strayer of Defiance, Jane Foster of Archbold and Joe (Lisa) Hagerman of Ft. Wayne, IN; 28 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and a sister, Darlene (Danny) Elswick of Big Rock, VA.  She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Gene Hagerman; a daughter-in-law, Leisha Hagerman; 2 brothers, James Hardin and Hassel Hardin and a sister, Christine Akers.

Her Farewell Services… Friends and family are invited to Zachrich Funeral Home on Friday, April 1, 2016 at 11:00 am for the funeral service with Rev. Isaac Shelton, Sr. officiating.  Burial will follow in Marion Township Cemetery, Hamler.  Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m., Thursday at the funeral home as well as one hour prior to the service Friday.  Memorial contributions made to the Alzheimer’s Association.  Please visit www.ZachrichFuneralHome.com to leave online condolences.
