George Lester Hollis
August 31, 1921 — September 11, 2012
George L. Hollis age 91, of Napoleon, died early Tuesday morning, September 11, 2012 at the Defiance Inpatient Hospice Center.
George was born August 31, 1921 to Reginald and Esther P. (Hooper) Hollis in Weare, New Hampshire. He graduated from Weare High School in 1941. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII as an infantry sharp shooter. On August 24, 1991 he married Elizabeth Woods.
He is survived by his wife in Napoleon; children, Mark Hollis, Concord, NH, Tammy Gauthier, Vernon, CT, Christopher (Kimberly) Forbes, Napoleon, and Becky (Doug) Wright, Aliquippa, PA; 13 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren and sisters, Rose and Kathryn. He was preceded in death by a sister Ivy Noland.
There will be a private service at the Zachrich Funeral Home, Holgate. Memorial contributions can be made to the Defiance Inpatient Hospice Center.
