Jeanette M. Brink age 93, of Holgate, died Sunday evening at Vancrest of Holgate.
Her Legacy… Jeanette was born May 10, 1925 to John and Esther (Schlotterbeck) Eis in Holgate. She graduated from Holgate High School in 1943. On August 25, 1943, she married Byron Brink. She loved being a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church, Holgate, where she was a Sunday school teacher for 25 years and in the Mission Society. She read the Bible 7 times! Jeanette enjoyed making quilts and blankets for the Grain Train. She was a founding member of the Holgate Garden Club. Jeanette was an avid reader and was the head librarian for 25 years in Holgate. In her spare time, she enjoyed crocheting.
Her Family… She is survived by her two daughters: Judith (Martin) Jackson, Angola, IN and Rebecca Williams, Defiance; grandchildren: Steven, Gregory, Andrew, Benjamin, and Devon; and 8 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Byron on October 16, 2010, daughter, Catherine (Lou) Smith and a granddaughter, Lindsay Williams.
Her Farewell Services… Friends will be received in the Zachrich Funeral Home, 114 William Street, Holgate on Wednesday from 3-8 pm and again one hour before the funeral service. The celebration of Jeanette’s life will be on Thursday, May 31, 2018 at 11:00 am in St. John's Lutheran Church, Holgate with Reverend Theodore Rellstab officiating. Burial will follow in Hoy Cemetery, Napoleon. In lieu of flowers, contributions made in Jeanette’s memory can be made to Holgate Community Library or a charity of your choice.
