Jerrell Don Cuniff

February 6, 1979 — November 5, 2019

Jerrell Don Cuniff was born on February 6, 1979, in Port Arthur, Texas. He passed from this life into the next on November 5, 2019, after a long battle with Rheumatoid Arthritis. He was 40 years old.

He made friends wherever he went and was known by his friends as Jerry or JD. He was quick with a joke or funny story and loved to laugh. He was an avid fisherman and since moving to Ohio, had especially enjoyed fishing in the Maumee River. He was a lifelong fan of the Dallas Cowboys, Houston Astros and the University of Texas Longhorns. Since moving to Ohio, he had also become a huge fan of the Ohio State Buckeyes.

He had worked as a chef in various restaurants in Southeast Texas, the Hill country of Texas, and the Dallas Fort Worth Metroplex. He also worked as a carpenter, framing and roofing houses. He ended his working years as a proud member of the Sheet Metal Workers Union. In spite of his crippled hands, he won the Texas State Apprentice drafting competition in 2015. His forced retirement, due to his physical limitations, was very frustrating for him and for the last six months he had been working tirelessly as a volunteer for Habitat for Humanity in the Toledo, Ohio, area.

He is survived by his Son, Taylor Lee Dickenson Cuniff, of Kennedale, Texas, his Father, Russell T. Cuniff and David Dickenson, also of Kennedale, his Mother, Judy Bradford, of Leipsic, Ohio, his Grandmother, Faye Cuniff, of Port Neches, Texas, his Brother Corey Cuniff and wife, Marie, of Hico, Texas, and Sisters, Charlene Parker and her Husband Richard, and Autumn Parker and her Husband, Jonathon, both of Ottawa, Ohio. He is also survived by his Step-Father, Doug Parker, of Leipsic, Ohio, whom he loved dearly and always referred to as "Dad". He also leaves his niece, LeeAnna Cantrell, whom he called "Nubbins", his nephew, Warren Parker, whom he called "Lil Buddy", and RJ Gonzales, whom he called "Pal". He is also survived by many Aunt's and Uncles and cousins in Texas.  He is also survived by Angel and step daughters, Brandie and Cheyenne all of Texas.

Cremation arrangements are being handled by Zachrich Funeral Home, in Holgate, Ohio. A memorial service will be held on January 18, 2020, at True Believers Fellowship in Holgate, Ohio, with Reverend Wendell Blackburn, officiating.
