Joe Arlen Stouffer age 79, of New Bavaria, died Sunday afternoon at the Defiance Inpatient Hospice Center.
His Legacy… He was born August 18, 1939 to Paul and Ethel (Marlow) Stouffer in Charloe, OH. On April 8, 1963, he married Marilyn Thomas. He retired in 1991 after being a mill wright at General Motors. Joe is an Army veteran. He was a life member of the VFW and AMVETS of New Bavaria. In the morning, Joe enjoyed playing cards with the guys at Sagers. He enjoyed fishing and deer, pheasant, and coyote hunting. He was a member of the Kalida Fish and Game Club and the Miller City Sportsmen Club. Every year he went to Iowa to hunt pheasants. He loved his dogs: Gabby, Lucy and Danci and enjoyed a good bowl of ice cream!
His Family… Joe is survived by his wife Marilyn, of 55 years; children: step daughter Cindy (Louie) Rivera, New Bavaria, sons, Joe P. (Lori) Stouffer, New Bavaria and Todd (Kim) Stouffer, Napoloen; and a brother Dean Noffsinger, Elida. Joe enjoyed spending time with his 7 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a step son Karl Edward Bosdech and brothers John Stouffer and Raymond Noffsinger.
His Farewell Services… Friends will be received in the Zachrich Funeral Home, 114 William Street, Holgate on Wednesday, January 30, 2019 from 2-7:00 pm with a memorial service at 7:00 pm with Father Nick Cunningham officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions made in Joe’s memory can be made to Defiance Hospice or a charity of your cho ice.
