Juan Medina Jr.

Juan Medina, Jr. age 71, of Holgate, died December 12, 2017 at St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center, Toledo.

His Legacy… Juan was born October 24, 1946   to Juan and Porfiria (Aguilar) Medina Sr.  On November 19, 2011 he married Cheryl Warnimont Beck in St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, Holgate were he became a member.  Juan worked for 35 years at GM Powertrain as a relief man in steering knuckles, retiring in 1998.  After retirement he worked for Rettig Pallets.  He enjoyed NHRA drag racing and Camaro’s.  If he wasn’t customizing his car, he was gardening or growing flowers.

His Family… He is survived by his wife, Cheryl Medina; sons, John (Tamara) Medina III, Danville, IL and Sam Medina Sr.  Hamler; step sons, Christopher (Sarah) Beck, Bloomington, IN and Anthony Beck, Napoleon; grandchildren, Rodney Hook, Tiffany Hook, Alec Posadas, Kaleb Medina, Samuel Medina, Jr., Austin Medina, and Conner Beck; and sister, Deloris Guerra, Paulding; and brothers, Roy, Holgate, Joe, Defiance, Robert, Defiance, Frank, Paulding and Rick, Defiance.  Juan was preceded in death by a granddaughter Jeanette Medina and a brother Lupe Medina.

His Farewell Services… Friends will be received in the Zachrich Funeral Home, Holgate on Thursday from 2-4 and 6-8 pm.  Everyone is welcomed back to the funeral home on Friday, December 15, 2017 after 10:00 am until the time of his funeral service at 11:00 am.  Burial will be in St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery, Holgate.  A luncheon will follow in St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, Holgate. Contributions made in Juan’s memory can be made to the Holgate Volunteer Fire Department or St. Peter’s Lutheran Church.
