Juanita Marie Yaichner, age 87, of Holgate, died Friday afternoon, May 11, 2012 at Defiance Area Inpatient Hospice Center.
Her Legacy…
She was born May 13, 1924 to Harmon and Luetta (Heldberg) Zachrich in rural Holgate. On June 24, 1944 she married Floyd John Yaichner. Juanita was a member of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, Holgate and the ladies guild. She was also a member of the American Legion Auxiliary #340. In her spare time, she enjoyed sewing, crafts, gardening, fishing with her hubby, and camping with her family. She worked beside her husband on the farm; and she had a strong Christian faith. Her greatest accomplishment was being an active part of her 12 grandchildren’s and 23 great-grandchildren’s lives.
Her Family…
She is survived by her three daughters, Sue (Terry) Rettig, Napoleon, Nancy (Roger) Oedy, Estero, FL and Patricia (Edwin) Westrick, Holgate; 9 grandchildren; 3 step grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren; a brother, Rollen (Delores) Zachrich and step sisters, Alene B. Duerk and Evelyn (Don) Granzow. She was preceded in death by her husband on June 12, 2010; and infant sister.
Her Farewell Services…
Friends will be received in the Zachrich Funeral Home, Holgate on Sunday from 2-7 pm and one hour prior to the funeral service. The celebration of Juanita’s life will be on Monday, May 14, 2012 at 10:30 am in St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, Holgate with Reverend Tamara Wood officiating. Entombment will follow in Riverview Memory Gardens, rural Defiance. Contributions can be made in Juanita’s memory to St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, Defiance Area Inpatient Hospice Center, or to a charity of your choice.
