LaDonna Steingass, age 79, died Sunday, January 11, 2015 in her Holgate home.
Her Legacy… She was born November 6, 1935 to Virgil and Velma (Simmons) Daft in Defiance, OH. She graduated from Defiance High School in 1953. On March 20, 1954, Donnie married James K. Steingass, who passed away April 13, 2000. She was a loving mother and wife. LaDonna was a homemaker, but also worked at Murphys and TG&Y in Defiance. LaDonna was a member of Holgate United Methodist Church.
Her Family… She is survived by her children, Jeffery Steingass, Holgate, Peggy (Mark) Lamb, Defiance, Gregory (Melissa) Steingass, Holgate; grandchildren, Matthew (Desiree) Steingass, Timothy (Amanda) May, Travis Lamb, Corey Lamb, Hunter Steingass, Lauren Steingass, and Ryan Lamb; great grandchildren, Jacob May, James Gandy, and Reznor Steingass; sister, Anna Stork (Bryan), Patsy (Francis) Schindler, Ney, and Sally (Larry) Jepsen, FL; and brother, George (Pat) Daft, ID. She was preceded in death by her husband Jim, daughter, Deborah May; granddaughters Kendra May and Elizabeth Steingass; and great granddaughters, Krystal Fallis and Marley Steingass.
Her Farewell Services… Friends will be received in the Zachrich Funeral Home (114 William St, Holgate) on Wednesday, January 14 from 5-8pm. Friends will be received 1 hour prior to LaDonna’s Celebration of Life at 11am in the funeral home on Thursday. Reverend Susan St. Peter will be officiating. Private burial will take place at Independence Cemetery. Contributions made in LaDonna’s memory can be made to the Holgate United Methodist Church Building Fund or the Ronald McDonald House.
