Laura Eitzman age 93, of Hamler, died early Sunday morning, November 4, 2012 at the Henry County Hospital.
Her Legacy… She was born February 9, 1919 to Henry and Ida (Bartels) Arps in Hamler. She married Harold Eitzman on January 7, 1951. She was a homemaker and worked for Westinghouse. Laura was a member of St. John Lutheran Church, Holgate. She enjoyed being outside watching the humming birds and working in the flower beds or on the farm. Laura was no stranger to the tomato harvester. When she wasn’t outside, she was inside canning or making cookies, coffee cake or funeral beans.
Her Family… She is survived by her loving husband Harold; daughters, Brenda Sonnenberg, Hamler and Bernice Germann, Napoleon and 2 grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a daughter Beatrice Kay, sisters Lulu Sonnenberg and Lillian Franz a still born brother and infant brother Lawrence.
Her Farewell Services… Friends will be received in the Zachrich Funeral Home, Holgate on Tuesday from 2-4 and 6-8 pm and again 1 hour before the service at church. The celebration of Laura’s life will be on Wednesday, November 7, 2012 at 11:00 am in St. John Lutheran Church, Holgate with Reverend Theodore Rellstab officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Contributions can be made in Laura’s memory to St. John Lutheran Church or to a charity of your choice.
