Marvin J. Eis, age 78 of Napoleon died Sunday, July 31, 2011 at the Napoleon Lutheran Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
His Legacy… He was born August 31, 1932 to John C. and Esther (Schlotterbeck) Eis in Holgate. Marvin graduated from Holgate High School in 1950. In 1952-1955 he honorably served his country with the US Coast Guard. He was employed by Chrysler in Perrysburg for 30 years retiring in 1998. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. He enjoyed shooting trap as well. He belonged to Ducks Unlimited and Pheasants Forever.
His Family… He is survived by a daughter, Peg (Tim) McDonald, Defiance; sons, Marty Eis, Liberty Center, and Marc (Jen) Eis, San Francisco, CA; grandchildren, Scott (Beth) Smiddy, Casey McDonald, John Eis and Clara Eis; sisters, Jeanette Brink and Donna Curtis both of Holgate, Ruth Okuley, Ottawa, Betty Guelde, Summerfield, FL and a brother John Eis, Winterpark, FL. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Evelyn Shorts and Karen Meyer.
His Farewell Services… Friends and family will be received in the Zachrich Funeral Home, Holgate on Thursday from 2-4 and 6-8 pm. Marvin's funeral will be on Friday, August 5, 2011 at 11:00 am in the funeral home with Reverend Susan St. Peter officiating. Burial will follow in Cole Cemetery. Memorial contributions can be made in Marvin's honor to Ducks Unlimited or Pheasants Forever.
