Mildred L. Hoffman 91, of Holgate, died Sunday, January 29, 2012 at Vancrest Healthcare Center of Holgate.
Her Legacy… She was born August 1, 1920 to Fred and Edith (Wells) Bauer in Holgate. She attended the Smith School, one room school house. In 1942 she married George R. Poulson and he died in 1947. In 1949 she married Alva Hoffman and he died on March 29, 2001. She was a homemaker and worked in the Holgate Local School cafeteria for 25 years. Mildred was a member of Emanuel's Christian Church and was a Sunday school teacher and in the Women's Guild. Mildred was a former member of the Holgate American Legion Auxiliary.
Her Family… She is survived by her loving family, daughters, Donna (George) Briggs, Erlanger, KY, Cecelia (Paul) Weddelman, Hamilton, IN, Bernie Schooley, Sherwood and Judy (John) Cordes, Holgate, and son George (Judy) Poulson, Holgate; 10 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; 11 great great grandchildren; a sister, Marcine Cooper, New Bavaria; and a brother Richard Bauer, Bryan. She was preceded in death by a grandson, Joe Cordes, a brother Byron Bauer and a sister Helen Noll.
Her Farewell Services… Friends and family will be received in the Zachrich Funeral Home, Holgate on Tuesday from 2-8 pm and 1 hour prior to the service at church. The celebration of Mildred's life will be on Wednesday, February 1, 2012 in Emanuel's Christian Church, New Bavaria at 11:00 am with Reverend Ed Briggeman officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Contributions can be made in Mildred's memory to Emanuel Christian Church, Vancrest Healthcare Activities or a charity of your choice.
