Norman W. F. Rohrs

Norman William Frederick Rohrs age 84, of Holgate, died Friday morning, September 23, 2016 at Vancrest Healthcare Center of Holgate.
His Legacy… He was born May 5, 1932 in Florida to Harvey and Luella (Tietje) Rohrs. Norman graduated from Florida High School in 1950. On June 28, 1951 he married Velma Lou Baker in St. John’s Lutheran Church, Holgate. He was a hand tool foreman for various manufacturers, including Dresser and SK Tools, in Defiance for 33 years. He was a guard at Campbell Soup for 7 years. He was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church, Holgate, the church council, holding numerous offices and Florida School district board member.
His Family… He is survived by his loving wife Velma of 65 years; sons, Mark (Sandra) Rohrs, Defiance and Darrell (Cyndy) Rohrs, Deshler; daughter-in-law, Terri Rohrs, Holgate; son-in-law, Scott Kress, Deshler; 15 grandchildren; and 17 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his son John; daughter, Patricia Kress, granddaughter, Chandra Rohrs, brother, Melvin Rohrs and a sister Carol Zartman.
His Farewell Services… Friends will be received in the Zachrich Funeral Home, Holgate on Sunday from 2-6 pm and one hour before the service at church. The celebration of Norman’s life will be Monday, September 26, 2016 at 11:00 am in St. John’s Lutheran Church, Holgate with Reverend Theodore Rellstab officiating. Burial will follow in the St. Stephen’s Lutheran Cemetery. Contribution’s made in Norman’s memory can be made to St. John’s Lutheran Church or a charity of your choice.
