Peter Garza Garcia

Peter Garza Garcia, Jr. age 61, of Holgate, died Sunday, February 10, 2019 at the Toledo Hospital.

His Legacy… Peter was born January 11, 1958 to Peter and Velia (Valenzuela) Garcia in Corsicana, TX.  He graduated from Defiance High School in 1977.  Peter was a mechanic for the Campbell Soup Company for 22 years.  He was a member of St. John Catholic Church, Defiance and the men’s team.  He was also a former Scout leader, he loved to fish, his favorite dog Nacho and his bestie Winnifred.  On July 3, 1984 he married Dawn Hubert.

His Family… Peter is survived by his devoted wife Dawn; children: Nora Mendizabal, Cincinnati, Jamie (Joe) Beck, Wauseon, Rick Garcia, Cincinnati, Jeremy (Amanda) Garcia, Holgate and Danielle Garcia, Toledo; mother Velia, Defiance; 12 grandchildren; and siblings: Janie (Mike) Burkes, Defiance, Joe (Miki) Garcia, Defiance, Julie (Steve) Hernandez, Holgate, Mary Cummins, Defiance, and Andy (Jessica) Garcia, Delta.  He was preceded in death by his father and a daughter Kathleen Garcia.

His Farewell Services… Friends will be received in the Zachrich Funeral Home, 114 William Street, Holgate on Thursday from 2-4 and 6-8 pm, with the Rosary that evening at 7:30 pm.  Everyone will be welcomed back to the funeral home on Friday, February 15, 2019 at 10:00 am with the service at 11:00 am.  Peter will be flown to Corsicana, TX where services and burial will take place.  In lieu of flowers, contributions made in Pete’s memory can be made to the American Diabetes Association or Donate Life America.
