Richard L. Niese

Richard L. Niese age 80, of Hamler, died Sunday afternoon, February 23, 2025 at the Henry County Hospital. 

His Legacy… Richard was born December 9, 1944, to Ralph and Viola Niese in Leipsic. He graduated from Hamler High School and then served in the United States Army. On November 4, 1966 he married Sharon Young in Anniston, AL. He was a member of Harvest Fellowship, Hamler. He enjoyed spending time with his family, watching sports, golfing, and praising his Lord and Savior. He was truly a new creation in Christ and shared his faith unapologetically by how he lived daily. 

His Family… He is survived by his loving wife Sharon; children: James (Lisa) Niese, Holgate and Deborah Bennett, Hamler; 5 grandchildren: Tina (Nick) Brulport, Brandon Bennett, Kelsey Bennett, Sarah (Caleb) Baker, Joshua Niese; 3 great grandchildren: Juniper Bennett, Ridge and Sophia Baker, and 2 more arriving soon. Richard was preceded in death by his parents, an infant daughter Tina Ann Niese and siblings: Ruth Ann, Jeanette, Norm, Joseph, and Ralph Junior.

His Farewell Services… Friends will be received at Zachrich Funeral Home, Holgate, on February 27, 2025, from noon until the memorial service celebrating Richard’s life at 3:00 P.M. Burial will follow in Pleasant Township Cemetery, Road 16C, New Bavaria with military honors. Memorial contributions can be made to Samaritan’s Purse.
