Richard M. Zedaker

Richard Maywood Zedaker, Jr. of New Bavaria, age 86, died Thursday evening, January 27, 2022 at Vancrest of Holgate.

His Legacy… He was born October 2, 1935 in Defiance to Richard and Angie (Burkmeyer) Zedaker.  On February 23, 1957, he married Helen Joan Shock.  He was a forklift operator for General Motors for 38 years.  He was a member of the Catholic church and the K of C, Ottawa.  Richard was a lifetime member of the Fish and Game Club of Defiance.

His Family… Dick is survived by his daughter, Deb (Don) Messer, Holgate; 6 grandchildren; 12great grandchildren;  sons-in-law, Tom Kynchynski and Chris Theisen, siblings: Vivian Mann, Mary Lou Lucek, David Zedaker, Terry King and Sue Ann Antoine   and a sister-in-law, Bonnie Shock.  Richard was preceded in death by his parents; a son, George Zedaker; daughters, Heidi Theisen and Tammy Wright; sisters: Ester Hill and Suzi Miller and brothers: Ed, Elmer and Joseph Zedaker.

His Farewell Services… Friends will be received in the Zachrich Family Funeral Home, 114 William Street, Holgate on Wednesday, February, 2, 2022 from 12-2:00 pm with the celebration of Richard’s life at 2:00 pm.  Burial is in the Brunersburg Cemetery, Defiance.  Memorial contributions can be made to the American Alzheimer’s Association.
