Ruby S. Stevens

Ruby S. Stevens age 91, of Holgate died Tuesday, at Vancrest Healthcare Center of Holgate.

Her Legacy… She was born on February 27, 1922 to Julius L. and Eva C. (Rettig) Rettig.  In August of 1939 she married Elmer Wolf and he died in 1950.  On April 18, 1955 she married Robert T. Stevens and he preceded her in death on October 16, 1986.  She was a homemaker and a cafeteria worker at Campbell Soup.  Ruby was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Napoleon.

She will be missed by her family… sons, Jerry (Wilma) Wolf, Holgate, Tom (Debbie) Stevens, New Bavaria, Robert Stevens, Holgate; a daughter, Marlene (Dennis) Erford, Findlay; 11 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; and 1 great great grandchild.   She was preceded in death by daughter Carol Cooper (Daughtry, Plassman), an infant brother, sisters Gladys Elling and Ethel Michaelis, and a brother Harrison Rettig.

Her Farewell Service… Friends will be received in the Zachrich Funeral Home, Holgate on Friday from 2-8 pm and one hour prior to the service on Saturday.  The celebration of Ruby’s life will be at Zachrich Funeral Home on Saturday, December 7, 2013 at 11:00 am with Pastor Thomas Polker officiating.  Burial will follow in St. John United Church of Christ Cemetery, Holgate.  Memorials can be made in her memory  to First Presbyterian Church,  Vancrest Healthcare Center, or a charity of the donor’s choice.
