Sandra Kay Folk died Saturday morning, May 4, 2024 in her New Bavaria home. She was born December 10, 1945 to Carl and Alameda (Groll) Eitzman. She graduated from Holgate High School in 1963. On June 28, 1986, she married John Folk and he died on August 10, 2019. She was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church, Holgate and a member of the Wm F. Helmke American Legion Auxiliary, Post 340. Sandy enjoyed traveling with John and enjoyed seeing many of our beautiful states.
She is survived by her children: Todd (Cathy) Giesige, Perrysburg, Christina (Dan) Przyojski, Temperance, MI, Scott (Liz) Giesige, Holgate and Troy (Kim) Giesige, Ottawa Lake, MI; step sons James (Jana) Folk, Jennings, FL and Jerrold (Linda) Folk, Washington, NC; brother-in-law Orville Weirauch, Holgate, a sister Bonnie Sito, Montpelier, a sister-in-law Clara Eitzman, Edgerton; 14 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; 4 step grandchildren; 7 step great grandchildren and a great-great granddaughter. She was preceded in death by her parents and sisters: Dorothy Ordway, Jeanette Engel, Joyce Sito, Helen Franz and Jacqueline Weirauch and brothers: Marian, Dale and Jim and granddaughter Tara Giesige.
Friends will be received in the Zachrich Family Funeral Home on Wednesday from 2-7 pm and again at the church one hour before the service. The Celebration of Sandra’s life will be on Thursday, May 9, 2024 in St. John’s Lutheran Church, Holgate at 10:30 am with Reverend James Haugen, III officiating. Burial will follow in St. Stephen Lutheran Cemetery, Defiance. Memorial contributions can be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Shriner’s Hospital for Children or St. John’s Lutheran Church, Holgate.
