Victor William Cohrs

Victor William Cohrs age 76, of New Bavaria, died Thursday morning, July 23, 2015 at CHP Defiance Area Inpatient Hospice Center.
His Legacy… He was born the son of Carl and Hilda (Seeman) Cohrs on November 1, 1938 in Deshler. In 1956 he graduated from Deshler High School. On October 1, 1960 he married Janet Behnfeldt in St. John Lutheran Church, Freedom Twp. He was a carpenter by trade, working for himself and McDonalds Construction. He also worked as a Henry County assistant engineer. Vic’s passions were woodworking, fishing, hunting, camping and hiking.
His Family… Victor is survived by his loving wife of 54 years; children, James Victor Cohrs, Napoleon, Terry (Jean) Cohrs, Napoleon and Lori (Rob) Olds, Continental; 5 grandchildren; 1 great granddaughter and siblings, Carl (Donna) Cohrs, Deshler, Lois (Carlin) Badenhop, Wauseon and Eldor (Dale) Cohrs, Perrysburg. He was preceded in death by his parents.
His Farewell Service… Friends will be received on Sunday from 2-8 pm in the Zachrich Funeral Home, 114 William Street, Holgate. He will lie in state on Monday from 10-11:00 am in the church. The celebration of Victor’s life will be Monday at 11:00 am in Hope Lutheran Church, Hamler with Reverend Keith Hunsinger officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Contributions made in Victor’s memory can be made to the family.
