Vincent B. Klingshirn age 83, of Holgate, died early Sunday morning, January 8, 2017 at St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center, Toledo.
His Legacy… Vince was born October 23, 1933 to Clarence and Clara (Frey) Klingshirn in Hamler. He graduated from Hamler High School in 1951. Vince was drafted into the U.S. Army where he received his electronic training. On May 9, 1959, he married Rita Mae Niese. In 1957, he started Vince’s TV in the family garage. The business expanded and moved to Holgate. Vince was a lifelong member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, New Bavaria and was a former Eucharistic minister and lector. He was a member of AMVETS, New Bavaria. Vince enjoyed bowling, golfing, horseshoe pitching, wood working and the Cleveland Cavaliers. He and Rita had been wintering in Florida since his retirement in 1996.
His Family… He is survived by his loving wife Rita of 57 years; their children: Joyce Smith, Toledo, Dave (Tammy) Klingshirn; New Bavaria, Lisa Klingshirn (Marc Arce), Findlay, and Cheryl (Trevor) Shively, Hamler; and grandchildren: Patrick Smith, Derek Klingshirn, Garrett Klingshirn, Everett Klingshirn, Joseph Shively and Holly Shively; and great grandson Micah West. Vince was preceded in death by his sister Alice Klingshirn.
His Farewell Services… Friends will be received in the Zachrich Funeral Home, 114 William Street, Holgate on Wednesday from 2-5 and 6-8 pm with the Rosary that evening at 7:30 pm. The family will greet friends again after 9:30 am in Sacred Heart Catholic Church, New Bavaria on Thursday, January 12, 2017 where the Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 am with Father Nick Cunningham officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with military honors. Contributions made in Vince’s memory can be made to Sacred Heart Church or MaryKnoll Charity.
